WGEM-TV in MOUNT STERLING, Ill. Visitors from all over the tri-state area descended on Brown County on Saturday to support local businesses and indulge in chocolate tastings.
This year marked the third annual Chocolate Crawl in Mount Sterling, and more than 20 businesses took part by giving out free chocolate and offering discounts and raffles to attendees.
Carolyn Ormond, proprietor of Ormonds on Main, attributed the recent uptick in business activity to the favourable weather.

Ormond noted that the olive oil and vinegar tastings had drawn a large crowd that morning. And it felt like a party in there!” In other words, it’s valuable.
Action Brown County representatives who worked on the event’s planning said it was a fantastic opportunity to stimulate local commerce during a traditionally slow time of year.
